Tuition Reimbursement
Vernon Green’s Tuition Reimbursement program reimburses a Vernon Green employee who successfully completes a continuing education program that has intrinsic value to the job function of the employee and/or the facility up to $7500.

Health Insurance
After 2 full months of employment at 30 hours or more per week, employees are eligible for coverage with our group health insurer. The employee's insurance costs $15 per week; family members may be added at additional cost to the employee.
Pension
We provide a 401k retirement plan for employees. Participants must be employed for a certain period of time at a set number of hours per year. The plan provides for employer and employee contributions.
Pre-tax Plan
An IRS-approved program is available that allows medical and certain other insurance premiums to be paid by payroll deduction before taxes are taken out, providing potential tax savings.
Earned Time Pay
Earned time may be used for personal time off. The program combines traditional vacation, personal and holiday time into one yearly bank of benefit hours. Earned time begins to accumulate after the completion of one month of work.
Sick Pay
After six months of employment, employees begin earning one sick day per month. Up to ten sick days per year may be earned. Earned sick days that are not used at the end of the year are paid to employees as a cash benefit in December. Part-time employees are eligible for a partial sick day benefit depending on hours worked.
Perfect Attendance Days
After three months of employment, employees may earn a paid day off for perfect attendance (no absences, lateness, or leaving early) for ten straight weeks. Up to four days may be earned each year. Part-time employees are eligible for partial Perfect Attendance Day benefits depending on hours worked.
Staffing differentials
Depending on the department, an extra wage differential is paid when staffing for an employee's department is beneath normal levels during all or part of their shift.
Other differentials
An extra wage differential is paid to all employees working on weekdays or on shifts after 3:00 p.m. Employees working on a holiday earn 1½ their base hourly rate.
Travel Pay
After three months of employment, $2.00 per working day is paid to employees who must travel more than 7 miles to come to work.
Meals
One meal per shift is provided for employees at no cost.
Breaks
Two 15-minute breaks are allowed per shift. Coffee or tea is provided at no cost for these breaks. Paid Break time - Employees are paid their normal hourly rate during the daily meal break (1/2 hour) and coffee breaks.
Dental Benefit
After one year of employment, employees may receive up to $100 per year for dental costs incurred by them or their family.
Uniform Allowance
An annual allowance of $25 is provided, after completing three months of employment, to offset the cost of uniforms for employees required to have them.
Uniform Purchasing
Periodically, employees may purchase uniforms from a uniform service catalog, paid by payroll deduction, minus any uniform allowance the employee has coming.
Life Insurance
A life insurance policy equal to one year's base salary is provided free to each full time employee after three months of employment.
Direct Deposit
Employees may request to have their paychecks deposited directly to approved banks, savings & loans and credit unions.
Food Co-op
All staff are eligible to purchase food and paper supplies as part of a monthly co-op arranged with our major suppliers. Employees may benefit from the reduced prices, which are usually at wholesale.
Sunshine Group
This program raises money used to recognize employees during illness, bereavement, birth, retirement or other special occasion. Employees may voluntarily join the group for a weekly 50-cent payroll donation.
